Vlad McCoy, A Unique Vampire Boy (I Am Perfect The Way I Am Book 1)

About

Vlad McCoy, A Unique Vampire Boy, is the second book in the "I Am Perfect The Way I Am" series. Dedicated to her son, this book explores how it feels to be different and not fit in. Sometimes, families find it hard when their child is diagnosed with ASD and don't accept the diagnosis. This book aims to encourage both the child and the parent, showing that everything is going to be okay. Sometimes, to fit in, we need to embrace being different. Once you accept your child's diagnosis, your child will accept themselves for who they were born to be, rather than what parents expect of them.

Vlad McCoy is no ordinary Vampire boy.  He is unique as he can walk in sunlight, eat human food, and prefers to smile instead of frown.  His best friend is human, which worries his Vampire parents.  Why is their son so different?

Sonia  D. Hebdon has seen her children being bullied because they are different.  She has therefore written a series of early readers to encourage children on the Spectrum.
