I was blessed to grow up with an amputee father who taught me that disability does not define a person. What matters is how you respond to challenges and what you do to achieve your goals.

Stepping away from my career to focus on my exceptional children became a profound learning experience—as a mother and a writer. I saw how children with autism were treated by peers and adults. I watched mothers being glared at when their autistic children had meltdowns in supermarkets.

My children were...

There's something magical about reading a mystery during the Christmas season.

I never imagined years ago that my work would receive international recognition. For a mom of children with special needs living in rural Queensland, who sacrificed her career to focus on her children's health, this award feels like Cinderella going to the ball. My journey began with a passion for Autism advocacy. I was fed up with my wonderful kids being mistreated by adults—yes, adults—who would shout names at them while walking their dog. My children stayed calm on the outside, but inside...

I started this unusual parenting journey 21 years ago with the birth of my first child, Ruby, and my son joined our lives seven years later. When your child lines up their toys and prefers to look at manhole covers in a park instead of beautiful Eastern Grey Problems, you quickly realize as a parent that there is an issue. We are facing epidemic proportions of children being diagnosed with ASD, and the causes are still unknown. Yes, there are opinions, but that doesn't help when you hear the...

The Haven Cove Series is an 80s-set, Stranger Things–inspired story about a secret society that recruits writers to finish the manuscripts of deceased authors—freeing their souls and opening the Realm of Light, where fictional characters live as if they were real.

In the eerie town of Haven Cove, two outcast teens uncover why writers are disappearing, forcing them to question what’s real, identity, and belonging. Clean fiction with gentle faith, written for teens at risk of self-harm,...

As a Christian Aussie Writer and most importantly as a mother to three Autistic teens, I have seen the worst in adult behaviour directed at my children. I have witnessed grown adults in their thirties and forties make fun of my children's disabilities. These parents teach this behavior to their own children, and the cycle repeats.

I'm not interested in how many books I sell. I'm not a materialistic individual, and God has provided our family with what we need. What I am interested in is...

Recently, I have witnessed the treatment of autistic children by adults in a disgusting way. I can't go into the details, but my children were targets. I am a nonprofit author dedicated to improving the lives of families with special needs children and creating autism awareness. It isn't okay for a child to be treated terribly by an adult for no reason because of their disability. You can't reason with people like this; all I can do is write how I feel as a writer representing parents with...

As a survivor of crippling depression and a mother to two extraordinary children with autism — one of whom also faces Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) — I write from a place of deep understanding and resilience. My latest novel, set against the vibrant backdrop of the 1980s, tells the heartfelt story of two teenagers who defy convention, bond over life's struggles, and discover the power of their own unique voices. Meet Josie Worthington: a gifted writer and an undeniable outsider. The...

As a parent of children with Autism, I have come to understand that the concept of reality is both complex and deeply personal. My motivation in writing my first book, “The Crazy Mother’s Guide To Raising Exceptional Children,” was born from a desire to offer hope and guidance. It’s a heartfelt commitment to sharing faith and innovative, practical parenting strategies to navigate life’s most intense moments with resilience and love.

Many children with disabilities experience dissociation and...
