It has been a long, hot summer in Australia, and the sequel to Sincerely Yours is finally finished and currently being edited. Many hours spent writing Blaine and Josie's new adventure in Los Angeles were completed at my writing desk, which was kept company by my rescue cats. There were numerous typos and deleted texts, thanks to my fur babies stepping on my keyboard to get my attention. But with a little determination and plenty of cat treats, I managed to finish the sequel with a heart-stopping ending that ties into the launch of the last book in July 2026.
Suppose you haven't read the first book. In that case, there is plenty of time to catch up on the original storyline before the characters are relocated to Los Angeles to face the Whitlock Society head-on and, of course, our favorite Nemesis, Alaric, who has recruited a new horror writer to finish his story and make him real. A new mixtape has been carefully selected to accompany the book. My husband has been testing the songs written into the storyline, and he is an ultimate ‘80s music guru and talented alternative Christian musician. He has given his thumbs up for the unusual songs that were chosen. There were quite a few he hadn't even heard of, which made me feel smarter than him for a change.
We are a husband-and-wife team, as he is a trained editor and multimedia specialist, and I am trained in Journalism, PR, and, of course, Creative Writing. We are a family dedicated to catering to special needs families by choosing stories that ASD kids can relate to. All our work is presented in large print, with smaller paragraphs, ample white space, and illustrations when necessary. As a trained special education teacher, I realized that these simple changes in the way a book is set out actually help kids with ASD and ADHD process the information more effectively and complete a book. As a parent, this is a win-win!
If you are curious about our real-life Addams Family, please check out my autobiography, The Crazy Mother's Guide To Raising Exceptional Children, which is a survival guide for parents of special needs children who have days when they want to run away and join the Circus. Warning! You must have a good sense of humor to read this guide, and yes, all the hilarious stories mentioned in this guide are true. As for The Haven Cove Series, The Ink Returns is guaranteed to have you transported once again back to the 90s without the need for a DeLorean.
Further updates soon,
God Bless,
