Who is Sonia D. Hebdon?
I am an Aussie, Christian, indie, nonprofit author who prices her books only to cover production costs. My husband and I are a writing team; he is a trained editor, video, and audio editor. I hold a degree in Creative Writing and Communication Studies, with a focus on crafting stories, designing covers, and managing all aspects of promotion. I am also a trained secondary teacher in special needs education. Because of my home life, I am a Disability Advocate for children and teens with disabilities, as I have three autistic teens, and my eldest child also has Dissociative Identity Disorder. After watching my children being bullied, I decided to fight back with the power of written words.
I write exclusively for children and teens with disabilities, and all my work reflects this focus. My books are in large print, featuring smaller paragraphs, ample white space, and illustrations when needed. Individuals with ASD, ADHD, and Dyslexia find it easier to read books in this format. Please support my work by sharing my posts on social media, so that necessary changes can be made in the literary industry to include individuals with disabilities in stories as well as in book layout.
