5 Things You Didn't Know About The Haven Cove Series!

1. The inspiration behind the Haven Cove series is Dissociative Identity Disorder, formerly known as Multiple Personality Disorder. It's a fascinating disorder due to how different the personalities are. However, there is a dark side, as individuals face a lot of emotional pain and anguish, physical side effects, and negative stigma, with the media often portraying a DID individual as a serial killer. This is far from the truth, as DID individuals lead normal lives—going to work, driving, and having families. They deserve recognition as truly talented and gifted people.

2. Josie's name was a tribute to the main female character in Never Been Kissed, played beautifully by Drew Barrymore. Blaine's name was inspired by Pretty in Pink, where Blaine is Andy's love interest. This is my favorite movie of all time, and I remember seeing it at the cinema when I was just thirteen.

3. The Haven Cove Series is my homage to 80s Choose Your Own Adventure books and promotes immersive reading. Instead of using text, it uses music. Growing up in the 80s and being an avid fan of alternative 80s music, I've woven songs into the main plot, with a Spotify playlist link included. As an author, when you encounter a song, please listen to it on Spotify and consider why I chose it and how it relates to the story.

4. I listened to over 60 hours of 80s alternative music, deliberately selecting each song for its scene.

5. The central theme of this series is: "What is real?" This series is built around gifted writers and how words can change your destiny. Writers are the heroes, with a superpower to turn a dead author's unfinished manuscript into reality—releasing it into a parallel universe where all characters become real and are unaware they were once figments of a writer's imagination. They live out their days living the writer's story!
